Most of Florida's ten tallest buildings are in Miami's Brickell and Downtown.
The tallest building in Florida is currently Panorama Tower, which comes in at 868 feet. Completed in 2018 by Miami-based Florida East Coast Realty includes 2.6 million square feet of apartments, offices, and retail space.
But Panorama Tower will likely lose its title in less than a decade. Five projects proposed in Miami will surpass Panorama Tower's height. One of them, Okan Tower ( learn more about the project ), has already broken ground. The other four: Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences, One Brickell City Centre, 888 Brickell, and One Bayfront Plaza, are slated to rise 1,049 feet, the maximum height the Federal Aviation Administration allows in the Brickell-downtown area.

Fort Lauderdale's tallest building
Plans have been submitted for yet another Fort Lauderdale tower taller than any existing building in the city. The new tower is planned at 633 SE 3rd Avenue, with:
830 multi-family units
12,798 square feet of commercial use
951 parking spaces in a 10-level garage

Florida’s top public universities are on a roll.
The University of Florida remains tied for No. 5 among the nation’s public universities, with hopes for another good showing when U.S. News & World Report releases its new rankings Monday.
Florida State University has risen 46 spots over the last decade in a separate ranking of all schools, public or private. And the University of South Florida is up 78 spots over the same period, making it the fastest-rising school in the country.
According to U.S. News, the surge has helped make Florida the No. 1 state for higher education based on graduation rates, lower tuition, and other factors.
