Moving to Miami
Miami’s Downtown Development Authority has approved funding three companies that would relocate to Miami and provide high-paying jobs.
Two companies would receive grants from the authority of up to $50,000 yearly over three years under requirements of the Follow the Sun campaign, implemented in the fall of 2020, which incentivizes companies to relocate to Miami’s downtown area and provide at least 10 jobs with a minimum salary of $68,000 a year. Moving to Miami ??? Airbnb will let its employees live and work anywhere. As of December 2021, Airbnb has 6032 employees and half in the US.
Electra America, a real estate private equity firm, and BH Group, a Miami-based private real estate investment firm, paid just over one hundred million dollars for the roughly 809,000 square foot mall which is on about 80 acres of land at Southland Mall in Cutler Bay.
The companies are planning a major mixed-use redevelopment of the site.
Calling it one of the largest redevelopment opportunities in Miami-Dade, they plan to modernize and reposition the mall while creating new high-quality housing.
Two Roads Development has submitted plans for a new project in Edgewater that will include three towers, according to The Real Deal.
The developer is buying out the Biscayne 21 condo building in Edgewater for the new project. A bulk unit closing is expected in the next 30 days which will give Two Roads majority control there.
